We do more than just rings.
How we work
Six easy steps to completely bespoke jewellery.
Initial Consultation
Whether you want a bespoke engagement ring, eternity ring or another piece of fine jewellery, it all begins with an idea; this is where we establish your requirements and design must-haves – everything required to make a meaningful and treasured piece of jewellery. At this point you will be viewing existing pieces we have in store, seeing our gemstones or diamonds, and sketching out some ideas. The initial consultation is an important starting point for your unique piece of jewellery.
Specification & Quoting
This is a thorough preparation of pricing and specification. This will take into account current prices for precious stones, white gold, yellow gold, platinum or sterling silver, and the complexity of work in store for our jewellery designers. Deposits are taken at this stage, before we proceed further. This ensures that we are on track with your requirements and enables us to further invest our time and expertise into your bespoke jewellery journey.
Design
Our senior designers get to work creating your bespoke jewellery design. We would, at this point, begin to order stones that match your brief and specification. We can then email you images of the design for approval once ready. Stones can also be viewed in store if required. A 3D-printed model of your item can also be provided, should you wish to view your design in 3D.
Casting & Hallmarking
Our casting is completed in the world-famous jewellery quarter by our trusted partner. This process transforms 3D-printed wax models into precious metals. Hallmarking is completed in our partner UK Assay Offices of London and Sheffield. Our registered punches and unique Chichester Cross Marks will be stamped or lasered onto the inside of the ring, assuring your metal is of the desired fineness and giving you peace of mind.
Goldsmithing & Assembly
Castings, claws and components are carefully filed, emery papered and pre-polished by expert craftsmen under magnification using hand tools and precise, high RPM micro-motors. Using a laser welder and various grades of precious metal solders, the components of your bespoke jewellery will then be assembled to form the unset ring mount or piece of jewellery.
Setting, Polishing & Quality Control
Stone setting takes place under a microscope, where diamonds and gemstones are meticulously set into the piece of jewellery. This exact work requires the utmost care and attention to detail. Our in-house setting team is respected throughout the industry for their work. Once the stone setting is complete a final polish is applied and then we move on to quality control for the final checks.
